Current System Month Definition
The current system month (CSM) is the latest benefit month created by AZTECS on the evening of the monthly rollover date. The CSM is generally one or two months ahead of the calendar month.
Sometimes the program must be rolled past the current system month. For more information on when to roll a program past the current system month, see Rolling Past Current System Definition.
CSM Example
December is the current calendar month.
At the beginning of the calendar month, the CSM is one calendar month ahead (January) and the next benefit month to be processed is two calendar months ahead (February).
On the evening of the monthly rollover date scheduled at the end of the calendar month (December), authorized NA and CA programs are copied from the CSM (January) and rolled into the benefit month (February) by AZTECS. When rollover occurs, February benefits are automatically authorized and displayed on the benefit history screens unless the program is deauthorized. (See the AZTECS Monthly Production Schedule for the monthly rollover date.)
Between the monthly rollover date and the last day of the month, the CSM could be two calendar months ahead (February).
