Benefit Level Definition
A dollar amount of Nutrition Assistance (NA) or Cash Assistance (CA) determined by the following for an eligible
budgetary unit(g):
●The number of members included
●The total countable income
●The allowable deductions
Benefit or Budget Month Definition
The calendar month for which benefits are being determined or have been issued based on income and circumstances from the month being budgeted.
Billboard Sales Definition
The sale of an item that is initiated by posting that the item is for sale (electronically or on paper).
This includes, but is not limited to, sales posted on the following:
●eBay
●Craigslist
●Etsy
●Amazon
●Letgo
●OfferUp
●Mercari
●Community bulletin board
●Newspaper or radio advertisement

Boarders Definition
An individual who resides with others and pays reasonable compensation to the others for room and meals.
Break in Employment Definition
A time period of one
calendar month(g) or more in which an employee is not scheduled to work. The break in employment from the same
income source(g) results in no income for that period of time.
Budgetary Unit Definition
A budgetary unit can consist of any of the following:
●An applicant or participant who receives benefits.
The worker determines who must be included in a budgetary unit. (See
Determining Budgetary Units for budgetary unit policy.)
Business Hours Definition
Business hours for FAA local offices are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (Arizona time**) on
workdays(g).
**FAA offices in Arizona, except for the FAA offices on the Navajo Nation, do not observe
Daylight Saving Time(g).
