Effective Date for Adding a Participant

The effective date for adding a participant to CA or NA is one of the following:
 
●When the change is verified timely, add the participant effective the first day of the month following the month the change is reported.
●When the change is verified untimely, add the participant effective the first day of the month following the month verification is received.
 
NOTE When the case is closed and the verification is received on or prior to the effective date of closure, reopen the case on REPT.
 
●When a participant being added is currently receiving benefits in another budgetary unit, see Adding a Participant Receiving Benefits.
 
When adding a newborn child, review the case to determine when the birth of the child was reported. (See Newborn Participant Maintenance)
 
When the case is closed and the change is verified after the effective date of closure, the budgetary unit must turn in a new application.
