The Jobs Work Requirements and Federal and State Time Limits have been reinstated effective the benefit month of 06/2022. For details, see the Urgent Bulletin emailed on 05/05/2022.
Tribal Native Employment Works (NEW) participants who fail to comply with NEW program requirements are subject to the graduated sanction policy. The NEW worker is responsible for all good cause determinations.
When NEW notifies FAA that a participant has failed to comply with a NEW requirement, complete the following:
For a CA case, impose the graduated sanction policy. (See PRAP/DISA Sanctions)
NOTE See Tribal CA for additional information about sanction penalties for tribes that operate their own CA programs.
For a TPEP case, withhold the first benefit possible. (See TPEP Withholding)
Do not end the sanction or withholding until NEW notifies of compliance. Following notification of re-compliance, notify the PI of the end of the sanction using the CA Change - Progressive Sanction Ended (A741) notice.
