Continued Absence of a Parent - Overview
Deprivation based on the continued absence of a parent exists when all the following conditions are met:
●The parent is out of the home and not expected to return.
●The absence interrupts or stops the absent parent from functioning as a provider of support, physical care, or guidance for the child.
●The duration of the absence does not allow the parent to participate in planning for the present support or care of the child.
