CA New Application Time Frames
Complete the CA eligibility decision as soon as possible, but no later than 45 calendar days from the date the application is received. When a timely decision is a denial, the application cannot be reopened. A new application needs to be submitted.

When participants are eligible for cash, the eligibility determination must be completed in time for the benefits to be transmitted to the participant's EBT account by the 45th day.
When CA eligibility is approved on the 45th calendar day from the date of application, CA benefits must be made available to the participant on the same day. See

The eligibility decision for a
Kinship Care,
Kinship Foster Care,
Legal Permanent Guardian, and
Grant Diversion (GD) CA application is required to be completed within 20 calendar days from the date the application is received.
An interview for a new CA application screened as potentially eligible for GD must be scheduled within five calendar days. A GD case must be completed within three calendar days from receipt of all eligibility verification for GD.
