Intentional Program Violation (IPV) - Overview
An Intentional Program Violation (IPV) occurs when a participant intentionally commits one or more of the following acts for the purpose of establishing or maintaining eligibility for benefits or increasing (or preventing a reduction in) the amount of benefits. These acts include the following:
●Making false or misleading statements
●Misrepresenting, concealing or withholding facts
For CA, committing any act intended to mislead, misrepresent, conceal or withhold facts or propound a falsity.
For NA, committing an act that violates NA regulations regarding use of NA benefits in any of the following ways:
●Acquisition
●Possession
●Presentation
●Receipt
●Transfer
