Deauth - CASH 18 ACTS Alert
Alert initiated by the system monthly rollover process: This alert is generated for CA cases in which there is a CA child who turns 18 in the current benefit month. (See
Age of a Participant for more information when determining CA eligibility for a child turning 18) AZTECS deauthorizes benefits and generates the alert for the benefit month after the child turns 18. Question mark (?) displays for the client age on AFED.

Action
Review the case for continuing student status and key any necessary information on the appropriate screens.
When the child is a student and does not meet the CA Student Criteria, complete all of the following as applicable:
●When the budgetary unit contains other eligible dependent children, code the 18-year-old child OU on SEPA and reduce CA benefits for the first benefit month possible, allowing for NOAA.
●When the 18-year-old is the only dependent child, code the child OU on SEPA and stop CA benefits using the DC Denial Closure Reason Code on AFED for the first benefit month possible, allowing for NOAA.
●Send the appropriate notice on NORE.
●Document the case file.
●Clear the Alert
When the child meets the CA Student Criteria, the child continues to be eligible for CA.
When the child earns income and meets the CA Student Criteria, complete one of the following:
●For earned income key the CF Income Code in the INC TYPE field on EAIC.
●For self-employment income, key the OF Income Code in the INC TYPE field on SEEI, as applicable.
Authorize benefits.
Document the case file.
Close the alert.
