FAA Office Overpayment Responsibilities - Discovery of Potential Overpayment
An overpayment (OP) is a benefit amount received by a household more than their entitled amount.
The Potential Overpayment (OP) Referral (FAA-0526A) form must be completed for the period of potential ineligibility or incorrect benefit amount. Send the completed FAA-0526A to the Overpayment Unit at
[email protected]. The FAA-0526A form can be found in the
Document Center.
Overpayments may be discovered in various ways, including but not limited to, the following:
●Case read process or case audits
●Eligibility Interview
●Jobs Program Information
●Duplicate Benefit report
●Appeal Decisions
●Management Evaluation (ME)
●Office of Special Investigation (OSI)
●Quality Control (QC)
Cases that do not require a referral include any of the following:
●Changes that result in the household receiving fewer benefits than entitled to or an under-issuance
●Medical Only overpayment cases
●An overpayment caused by a non-reportable change for Simplified Reporting unless the change is known to the agency
