FAA Office Overpayment Responsibilities - Discovery of Potential Overpayment

An overpayment (OP) is a benefit amount received by a household more than their entitled amount.
 
The Potential Overpayment (OP) Referral (FAA-0526A) form must be completed for the period of potential ineligibility or incorrect benefit amount. Send the completed FAA-0526A to the Overpayment Unit at [email protected]. The FAA-0526A form can be found in the Document Center.
 
Overpayments may be discovered in various ways, including but not limited to, the following:
 
Case read process or case audits
Eligibility Interview
DCSS Information
Jobs Program Information
Duplicate Benefit report
Appeal Decisions
Management Evaluation (ME)
Office of Special Investigation (OSI)
Quality Control (QC)
 
Cases that do not require a referral include any of the following:
 
Changes that result in the household receiving fewer benefits than entitled to or an under-issuance
Medical Only overpayment cases
An overpayment caused by a non-reportable change for Simplified Reporting unless the change is known to the agency
Errors, including errors caused by case reads, that are under the current NA waiver amount (See Overpayment Unit Responsibilities – NA Waiver of Overpayment)
