FAA Office Overpayment Responsibilities - Discovery of Potential Overpayment
When the budgetary unit receives more benefits than entitled to, a potential overpayment exists. A referral must be written. It must cover the whole period of potential ineligibility or incorrect benefit amount.
Complete the FAA0526 Potential Overpayment Referral Unity Form in
OnBase(g).
When the Unity Form is unavailable, use the Potential Overpayment (OP) Referral (FAA-0526A) form in the Document Center. Send the completed FAA-0526A form to the Overpayment Unit at
[email protected].
Overpayments may be discovered in various ways, including, and not limited to, any of the following:
●Case read process or case audits
●Eligibility Interview
●Jobs Program Information
●Duplicate Benefit report
●Appeal Decisions
●Management Evaluation (ME)
●Office of Special Investigation (OSI)
●Quality Control (QC)
Cases that do not require a referral include any of the following:
●Changes that result in the household receiving fewer benefits than entitled to or an under-issuance.
●Medical Only overpayment cases
●An overpayment caused by a non-reportable change for Simplified Reporting, unless the change is known to the agency.
