NA as Obligations of the U.S. - Crimes and Offenses - Felony Convictions
Felony convictions for knowingly transferring, acquiring, altering, or possessing NA benefits illegally result in the following penalties:
 
First conviction, a fine of not more than $10,000 and or imprisonment for not more than five years
Second and subsequent convictions, imprisonment for not less than six months or more than five years, and a fine of not more than $10,000
 
Felony convictions for presenting or causing to be presented for payment or redemption, NA benefits known to be counterfeited, altered, transferred, or acquired illegally, result in the following penalties:
 
First conviction, a fine of not more than $20,000 or imprisonment for not more than five years or both
Second and subsequent convictions, imprisonment for not less than one year or more than five years and a fine of not more than $20,000
