A child may be deprived due to one or more of the following:

NOTE When a parent is physically out of the home, but still assists with decisions about parenting the child, there is no deprivation due to absence. The PI must be given the choice to add the absent parent to the Tribal TANF budgetary unit. When the PI chooses not to add the absent parent then there is no deprivation, and the child is not eligible for Tribal TANF benefits.
