Deferral Ended ACTS Alert
Alert initiated by the system: When a CA participant has received a deferral from the Jobs Program, an ACTS alert is generated when the CA Jobs deferral ends. The participant must provide a different source of verification for the LIBL/STBL Hardship Extension Reason.
Alert name: DEFERRAL ENDED
Due Date Assigned by ACTS
10 calendar days from the date the alert is generated.
Action
Review the case file for all of the following:
●When the reported change causes a loss of a work requirement exemption, update WORW as needed and send the appropriate notice. See
Changes in Jobs Participation Status for more information about changes for Job referrals.
●Determine whether a disability of a parent is currently the cause of deprivation and whether deprivation due to disability would continue. When unemployment or underemployment is the cause of deprivation, convert the case from CA to CA TPEP. See –
Converting CA to TPEP for details on the required process.
Review the case file to determine whether the participant has a pending request for one of the following LIBL/STBL Hardship Extension Reasons:
●Disability
●Victim of Violence, Crime, or Domestic Violence
When the participant does not have a pending request for one of the previously listed Hardship Extension Reasons, close the DEFERRAL ENDED ACTS Alert and document the
case file(g) with the date of the ACTS alert and what was done. No additional action is required.
Determine whether a source of verification of the hardship other than Job Deferral is currently in the case file.
When verification is not in the case file, determine whether FAA has sent the participant a request for information for verification of the hardship.
When verification of the hardship other than Job Deferral is in the case file or the verification due date has passed, complete all of the following:
●Stop or deny CA benefits or complete the hardship extension approval based on the verification available.
●Send the appropriate notice.
●Close the DEFERRAL ENDED ACTS Alert.
●Document the case file with the date of the ACTS alert and what was done.
●No additional action is required.
When a request for information was not previously sent, or the verification due date has not passed, complete all of the following:
●Extend the DEFERRAL ENDED ACTS Alert to the day after the verification due date.
●Document the case file with the date of the ACTS alert and what was done.
●No additional action is required at this time.
