State Assistance Budgeting Income - Earned Income Deductions
Allow the Cost of Employment (COE) deduction for each participant whose income is budgeted.
 
AZTECS calculates a COE deduction for one participant.
 
EXCEPTION
When there are two participants whose income is budgeted, key the COE multiplied by two in the COST OF EMPL DEDUCTION field on STAA.
 
The COE deduction is $24 per month of earned income per participant.
 
The COE deduction is meant to compensate for job related personal expenses that include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
Mandatory payroll deductions
Transportation
Uniforms
