Spouse's CA Share Example (STA)

Leon has applied for State Assistance (STA) benefits. Carol, Leon's wife, has a daughter from a previous marriage.

Carol receives CA in the amount of $275 for herself and her daughter.

Half of the prorated share of Carol's CA is countable towards Leon's STA.

To determine the prorated share, divide the CA amount by the number of participants included in the CA benefit.

Manually calculate the following:

$275 divided by 2= $137.50 (Carol's prorated share)
$137.50 divided by 2= $68.75 (half of the prorated share)

Key $68.75 as Leon's countable unearned income on STAA.
