Methods of NA Overpayment Collection - Collection of Overpayment Under the Referral Limit

The following guidelines apply to NA overpayment collections when the overpayment is an agency error or inadvertent household error under the referral limit and the case is closed:
 
The Office of Accounts Receivable and Collections (OARC) is not required to track cumulative claim totals.
When the household is inactive at the time of the initial collection and the original claim amount is $300 or less, collection is waived and is no longer required to be pursued.
 
OARC cannot waive or discontinue collection efforts when all of the following have occurred:
 
Collection efforts have reduced an established claim to under the referral limit.
The household later becomes inactive.
The claim was discovered during a QC review
