JPPO FAA Procedures

New CA participants must cooperate with the JPPO requirement before CA approval, unless any of the following apply:
 
The participant meets a CA Jobs Exemption
JPPO is not required as part of the CA program for any of the following:
Two Parent Employment Program (TPEP)
Grant Diversion
Hopi Family Assistance Program (HFAP)
Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRP-MIC) Life Enhancement and Resource Network (LEARN)
 
NOTE The Tribal TANF Programs have their own preapproval compliance requirement.
 
When the new CA participant agrees to comply, complete one of the following with the participant:
 
Play the Jobs Program Preliminary Orientation (FAA-1808A) Video when the interview is conducted in-person. The video is accessed from the DES Document Center in English or Spanish.
Play the Jobs Program Preliminary Orientation (FAA-1807A) Audio when the interview is conducted over the phone. Staff can also access and play the audio recording by selecting the JPPO button in Genesys.
Read the Jobs Program Preliminary Orientation (FAA-1806A) Script to the participant in English or their spoken language.
 
NOTE For participants requesting accommodations due to a visual impairment, a large print version of the script is also available in the Document Center. For the hearing impaired, the script can be printed and provided to the participant.
 
When the participant completes the JPPO, take all of the following actions:
Document “JPPO Pre-Compliance completed” in CADO.
Approve the CA application when the budgetary unit meets all other eligibility requirements.
 
When the participant is unable to complete the JPPO during the interview, take all of the following actions:
 
Document “JPPO Pre-Compliance Not Completed” in CADO.
Send the Information Needed (A011) notice.
 
When the participant refuses to comply with the JPPO during the interview, take all of the following actions:
 
Document “JPPO Pre-Compliance not completed due to participant’s refusal” in CADO.
Deny the CA application. Key JP in the DENIAL CLOSURE REASON field on AFED.
Send the Noncompliance With Jobs/New Orientation (A208) notice.
 
Participants can call the phone number provided in the A011 notice or go into a local office to complete the JPPO compliance after the interview. When contacted, workers must complete any of the following with the participant and document “JPPO Pre-Compliance completed” in CADO:

Jobs Program Preliminary Orientation (JPPO) (FAA-1806A) Script
 
When the compliance is not completed by the due date indicated on the A011 notice, deny the CA application the following workday(g) by completing all of the following:
 
Key JP in the DENIAL CLOSURE REASON field on AFED.
Document CADO that the CA participant did not comply with the JPPO requirement.
Send the Noncompliance With Jobs/New Orientation (A208) notice.
