CA Jobs Exemptions

Evaluate the exempt status of each CA participant at any of the following times:
 
New application
Each renewal
Any time when the Jobs Program staff request an evaluation
Any reported change that may affect the work program status
 
The following are CA Jobs exemption reasons:
 
Age
Nonqualified noncitizen when the participant has a citizenship code of OT, IA, or EF keyed in the CI field on IDCI.
Cuban or Haitian Entrants with the approved parolee status when there is a delay in receiving their Employment Authorization Document (EAD).
 
NOTE Cuban or Haitian Entrants who do not have employment authorization and are CA mandatory Jobs referrals are temporarily exempt from referring to the Jobs Program. When the employment authorization is received, they must comply with the Jobs Program.
 
Key the appropriate CA Jobs Program Exemption Code in the PAR/EXEM field on WORW for each exempt participant.
 
A CA Jobs Program Exemption Code is not required in the PAR/EXEM field on WORW for a participant when both of the following apply:
 
DI or DF is keyed in the CA PT field on SEPA for the Disqualified participants.
OT, IA, or EF is keyed in the CI field on IDCI for the Nonqualified noncitizen participants.
