CA Dependent Child
A CA dependent child is any child who meets both of the following criteria:

Is under the age of 19, and when 18 meets the Student Criteria for CA.
Lives with a caretaker relative or Legal Permanent Guardian who has requested benefits for the child.

A dependent child must be deprived of parental care or support to be potentially eligible for CA. (See Deprivation)

When the child meets the age requirement for CA, AZTECS checks the child's deprivation factors to determine eligibility.

NOTE When the participant is age 18 and does not meet the definition of a dependent child, consider the participant an adult. They must apply for CA on their own behalf.
