There is no SSN requirement for State Assistance.

 

Request participants to provide verification of their SSN for inquiry purposes and verifying other eligibility factors.

 

Refer participants to the Social Security Administration (SSA) to apply for an SSN when they cannot show acceptable proof of one. For referral procedures, see Referral for SSN.

 

Failure or refusal to cooperate with providing proof of an SSN does NOT affect eligibility.
