Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Definition
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a psychological reaction occurring after experiencing a highly stressing event. This includes but is not limited to the following:
●Combat situations
●Physical violence
●Natural disasters
PTSD is usually characterized by one or more of the following:
●Depression
●Anxiety
●Flashbacks
●Recurrent nightmares
●Avoidance of reminders of the event
PTSD is also called post traumatic stress syndrome.
