Lucy and Ricky are married. Lucy has temporarily moved to a different town in order to attend confectionary school and learn to make gourmet chocolate. Ricky has stayed behind in the family residence with their children, Little Freddie and Bobby Lou, so that he can continue to maintain his job as a bandleader at a local nightclub.

 

Lucy and Ricky do not consider themselves separated as a family unit. Lucy's temporary absence is voluntary; deprivation for Little Freddie and Bobby Lou does not exist.
