States in which persons can be married by
common law are the following:

●Colorado
●District of Columbia
●Georgia (when common law relationship was established prior to 01/01/97)
●Idaho (when common law relationship was established prior to 01/01/96)
●Iowa
●Kansas
●Montana
●Ohio (when common law relationship was established prior to 01/01/91)
●Oklahoma (when common law relationship was established prior to 11/01/98)
●Pennsylvania
●Rhode Island
●South Carolina
●Texas
●Utah
Navajo Tribal members living as man and wife may be recognized as married by common law.

The common law relationship continues when the participant moves to Arizona or when they move off the Tribal Land.
