In 1997, the Arizona State Legislature passed Senate Bill 1357 that included establishing the Arizona Works Program as a pilot program to privatize the delivery of welfare services.

 

Effective 04/01/1999, through 09/15/2002, MAXIMUS administered the Arizona Works Cash Assistance (CA) and General Assistance (GA) programs in Maricopa East Region.
