State Assistance Processing Time Frames - Overview

When determining eligibility, the application must be approved or denied for State Assistance based on all eligibility criteria.
 
The eligibility determination must be completed as soon as possible, but no later than 30-days from the date of application.
 
When the participant's refusal or failure to cooperate results in a delay in processing, deny the application. The following apply:
 
The participant must have been informed of the cooperation requirements.
Ensure that the participant is given ten days to provide information.
 
NOTE There is no requirement to wait until the 30th day following the application date to deny the application.
 
When the participant is unable to obtain necessary information, provide assistance when they request it.
 
When TC is approved ON the 30th calendar day from the date of application, TC benefits must be made available to the participant on the same day. (See Same Day Availability)

Document all reasons for delays in processing beyond the 30-day limit on CADO or the CADO Extension Form (CEF).
