State Assistance Benefit Selection - Types of Changes - Changes in Resources - Excess Resources Reported for Open Case

When the PI reports resources that exceed the resource limits, the following apply:

When the resource is expected to remain excessive, close the case the first month possible, allowing for NOAA requirements.
Send the PI the appropriate closure notice. The notice must explain that the PI must provide verification of how resources were reduced, should they reapply.

There may not be enough information to determine whether the resource is or will remain excessive. In this situation, complete the following:

Send the PI the A011 notice, requesting more information.
Do NOT stop benefits when the PI provides information that verifies resources are below the resource limit.
Stop benefits when the PI does not provide information or provides it after the deadline. The participant must reapply for benefits.

The participant is not eligible for the entire month that their resources exceed the resource limit. They remain ineligible for the entire month even when the resource is reduced to an eligible level during the same month.
