State Assistance Benefit Selection - Types of Changes - Changes in Assistance Programs
When a change in assistance programs is required or requested, a new application must be filed. The following apply:
●Pending Applications
A new application for one program may be pending at the time of application for a different program. Review both applications before making an eligibility decision. Complete the following:
●Approve benefits for the appropriate programs for the appropriate months.
●Send decision notice to the PI for each application.
●Open Cases
The participant may be approved for State Assistance while participating in NA. Approve the State Assistance application effective the first month after the CA benefits are stopped.

A State Assistance program cannot be added to any case in AZTECS that ever had a CA program attached to it. In this situation, assign a new case number to the State Assistance program.
