Interview Process - Missed Interviews
When a participant misses an interview for a new application, deny the application. Key N in the COMPLETED field on INDA when the participant DOES NOT contact the local office by close of business on the day of the missed interview or home‑based interview.
 
AZTECS generates the X700 notice on the night of the missed interview or home-based interview when the following occur on INDA:
 
The RESCHEDULED field is blank.
The COMPLETED field displays N.
 
When the participant arranges for a second interview and they fail to appear for it, deny the application. Do not reschedule the appointment.
 
When the missed interview is for a renewal, complete the following:
 
Send an NOAA to the PI to close the case, when the participant does not contact the local office by close of business the day of the missed interview.
When the PI does not contact the local office within the ten-day advance notice period, stop the benefits.
Reschedule the interview when the PI contacts the local office within the ten-day advance notice period. Consider the following:
The participant may miss the second interview, and not contact the local office by close business the day of the missed interview. When this occurs, the following apply:
Close the case the day of the missed interview.
Send the PI the appropriate closure notice.
The participant must reapply to receive benefits again.
The PI may contact the local office on or before the date of the second appointment to reschedule. Determine whether good cause can be established.
Good cause includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Lack of transportation on the day of the appointment
Illness
Serious illness or other accident involving the participant that causes appearance for the appointment to be impossible or unreasonable
When good cause cannot be established, do not reschedule the interview. Send the PI an NOAA.
