Petition for Review Definition
 
A participant's or FAA’s request to the Appeals Board for a review of a appeal hearing decision. The intent of this review is to contest the decision of the Administrative Law Judges at the Office of Appeals.
 
NOTE Decisions that are remanded by the Administrative law Judge (ALJ) are not subject to a petition for review by the Appeals Unit (APU) or the Overpayment Unit.
