Parent Only Cases - Pascua Yaqui Tribal TANF
A parent may receive Pascua Yaqui (PY) Tribal TANF benefits when their only eligible dependent child is removed by Social Services.
When the PY Tribal TANF budgetary unit consists of only an adult, all of the following apply:
●The parent must complete and submit a new application
●The parent must meet all other PY Tribal TANF program requirements, which include:
●The dependent child must have been removed from the home by a Social Service agency. Social Service agencies include, but are not limited to, the following:
Pascua Yaqui Social Service
Tribal Foster Care (FC)
Department of Child Safety (DCS)
●The parent must have and remain in compliance with their court ordered reunification plan
NOTE This requirement is tracked by
PY YOEME Services.
●The parent may receive PY Tribal TANF benefits for a period not to exceed six full months
Complete the following to approve a PY Tribal TANF Parent only case:
●When the budgetary unit is currently receiving TANF benefits, close the case with the DC (no eligible dependent child) Denial or Closure Reason Code allowing for NOAA
●Register the new Parent only application
●Include the child removed by a Social Service agency in the case
●Key the child FC on SEPA
●Complete the PY TANF determination
●Ensure the approval period does not exceed 6 full months
●Send the PY-TANF APPROVAL (A624) notice
The PY Tribal TANF benefit will only be for the parent. The child’s TANF eligibility is determined in the court-appointed caretaker’s case.
