NA as Obligations of the U.S. - Crimes and Offenses - Misdemeanor Convictions
Misdemeanor convictions for knowingly transferring, acquiring, altering, or possessing NA benefits illegally result in the following penalties:
 
First conviction, a fine of not more than $1000 or imprisonment for not more than one year or both
Second and subsequent convictions, imprisonment for not more than one year and a fine of not more than $1000 or both
 
Misdemeanor convictions for presenting or causing to be presented for payment or redemption, NA benefits known to be counterfeited, altered, transferred, or acquired illegally result in the following penalties:
 
First conviction, a fine of not more than $1000, or imprisonment for not more than one year or both
Second and subsequent convictions, imprisonment for not more than one year and a fine of not more than $1000
