(01/01/19 - 12/31/19)
A dependent child may receive Pascua Yaqui (PY) Tribal TANF benefits when residing with a nonparent caretaker relative (NPCR). An NPCR is an adult who is capable and responsible for the care, control, and supervision of the dependent child.
When the PY Tribal TANF budgetary unit consists of only a child, all of the following apply:
The budgetary unit must meet all other PY Tribal TANF program requirements
The child must be an enrolled PY Tribal member to be potentially eligible for PY Tribal TANF.
The NPCR must be related to the child by blood (no limit to the degree of relationship) or by Tribal customs and/or traditions.
NOTE The NPCR is required to comply with PY Yoemem Organization for Employment and Member Enhancement (YOEME) Services prior to TANF approval
