Child Only Case Definition

A Child Only case is a CA case in which the eligible dependent child is in the legal custody of the Department of Child Safety (DCS), a Tribal Court or a Tribal Child Welfare Agency in Arizona. The child is placed in foster care with an unrelated adult or a nonparent relative, who is not requesting CA for themselves.

In a child only CA case the specified relative is coded OU on SEPA.

A CA child only case does not have a State Benefit Limit (STBL) and is exempt from the CA Needy Family Test criteria.
