Case Read Definition
 
A review of one or more eligibility factors used to complete a determination for benefits. Case reads are completed as an evaluation tool, used to assist workers on how to apply policy accurately and consistently.
 
FAA uses the Case Read Accuracy Tracking System (CATS) to complete and track case reads and monitor case accuracy.
 
FAA Quality Support Team (QST), FAA Office Management and Region Management Analysts complete case reads on FAA staff who complete eligibility determinations. There are two primary types of case reads that are utilized by FAA:
 
Income Quality Read (IQR)
Target Case Read (TarCATS)
