02 Broadcasts Overview
Effective 11/04/2019, changes to the CNAP Manual are now communicated on the What’s Changed page at the beginning of each workweek. Previous weeks are located in What’s Changed History.

Prior to 11/04/2019, broadcasts were issued through email to designated users, and are defined as follows:

A Policy Change Alert (PCA) broadcast is issued by the FAA Policy Support Team (PST) via email as a PDF file.

The PCA releases information regarding changes in the Cash and Nutrition Assistance Policy (CNAP) Manual occurring in‑between revision dates. PCAs indicate the effective date of the change, the CNAP Manual references affected, a summary of why the policy changed, and the revised policy.

NOTE Prior to 01/01/2014, PCAs were called Policy Broadcasts.

News Flash (NF) Broadcasts (formerly known as Flash Bulletins) are issued by the FAA PST via email as PDF files. The NF releases information that does not change the policy in the CNAP Manual and is normally used for procedure changes.

NOTE Prior to 01/01/2014, an NF was called a Flash Bulletin Broadcast.
