O Contact to Employer After Interview Example

Allison applies for NA on 07/21 and is interviewed on 07/27.

The Income Request Period would be 06/27 through 07/26. The worker must explore, verify and budget the known income received during that timeframe.

Allison states she is currently working 25-30 hours per week and is paid weekly. She provides the following paychecks:

The 06/30 check is needed to complete the Income Request Period. Verification of the check is not available at the interview. The EI requests that Allison provide it.

Allison is unable to provide the check and asks us to contact her employer. The worker contacts the employer on 08/11. Because the applicant has received income since the interview, the EI must explore, verify and budget the known income received from the first day of the application month through the current day. The new Income Request Period is 07/01 through 08/11.

The employer verifies the checks for 07/28, 08/04, and 08/11. The employer also verifies that Allison works 25-30 hours per week.

For the initial month of July, budget all income received in the month of July.
