16 Quarters of Coverage Pattern Values
The following is a list of codes for quarters of coverage pattern values that display on QCIN. The codes display under the QUARTERS OF COVERAGE PATTERN heading for each quarter of the years listed to the left under the YEAR heading. Use the codes to determine whether a noncitizen participant has 40 quarters of coverage.

Wage Quarter of Coverage (This is the most common quarter code displayed)

Military Quarter of Coverage

Federal, State or Local government wage Quarter of Coverage (countable when the per quarter earnings requirement is met)

Japanese Internment Quarter of Coverage
M
Military Quarter of Coverage
N
Quarter with no earnings, a non Quarter of Coverage
R
Railroad Quarter of Coverage

Self-employment Quarter of Coverage

A countable Quarter of Coverage derived from creditable noncovered earnings
