.01 Child Only Cases – Pascua Yaqui Tribal TANF

(10/01/13 - 12/31/13)
A dependent child may receive Pascua Yaqui (PY) Tribal TANF benefits when residing with a nonparent specified relative (NPSR). An NPSR is an adult who is capable and responsible for the care, control, and supervision of the dependent child.

When the PY Tribal TANF budgetary unit consists of only a child, all of the following apply:

The child must be an enrolled PY Tribal member to be potentially eligible for PY Tribal TANF.
The NPSR must be directly related, within the first degree of blood or marriage, to either parent of the minor child.
When an NPSR is employed or self-employed, regardless of the amount of income, the budgetary unit is NOT eligible for PY Tribal TANF.
When the budgetary unit receives SSA, Retirement, or any other form of unearned income, regardless of the amount, the budgetary unit is potentially eligible.
