.09 Sanctions - Hopi Tribal TANF
When the
Hopi Family Assistance Program (HFAP) Office notifies FAA that a participant fails to comply with any of the
Hopi Personal Responsibility Agreement (PRA) requirements, FAA imposes progressive sanctions in AZTECS .
For Hopi Tribal TANF noncompliance, the sanction levels are as follows:
●For the first instance of noncompliance, AZTECS reduces the total cash benefit by 25%.
●For the second instance of noncompliance, AZTECS reduces the total cash benefit by 50%.
●For the third instance of noncompliance, AZTECS stops benefits and the budgetary unit is not eligible for twelve months following the closure month.
NOTE When a Hopi Tribal member applies for Hopi TANF within twelve months following the third instance of noncompliance, deny the application using the NH Denial or Closure Reason Code. Send the A602 notice.
●For all subsequent instances of noncompliance, AZTECS stops benefits and the budgetary unit is not eligible for twelve months following the closure month.
NOTE When a Hopi Tribal member applies again within the twelve months following the subsequent instance of noncompliance, deny the application using the HT Denial or Closure Reason Code. Send the A611 notice.
When a Hopi TANF participant moves from the Hopi
service delivery area and is approved for TANF or CA benefits in AZTECS all prior sanctions keyed in AZTECS count.
NOTE AZTECS determines the sanction amount based on information keyed on the PRAP/DISA screen for the program in which the household is participating. (See Examples
