C USDA Nondiscrimination
The USDA nondiscrimination statement must be included on all forms, EBT cards, posters, pamphlets, etc., that are in any way used for USDA and Food and Nutrition Programs.
Post the statement in all offices. Include the statement on all materials produced for public information, public education, or public distribution. The USDA nondiscrimination statement is as follows:
"The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital or family status. (Not all prohibited bases apply to all programs.) Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact USDA's TARGET Center at (202) 720‑2600 (voice and TDD).
"To file a complaint of discrimination, write USDA, Director, Office of Civil Rights, Room 326‑W, Whitten Building, 14th and Independence Avenue, SW, Washington D.C., 20250‑9410 or call (202) 720‑5964 (voice and TDD). USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer."
The regulation provides agencies with the option of using a shorter nondiscrimination statement on brochures, EBT cards, flyers, and other material of less than a page. All material must, at a minimum, include the following short nondiscrimination statement:
"The USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer."
Print the short statement in print size no smaller than the text of the document.
