.09 Methods of NA Overpayment Collection - Collection of Overpayment Under the Referral Limit
The following guidelines apply to NA overpayment collections when the overpayment is an agency error under the referral limit or a non-IPV error under the referral limit AND the case is closed:
 
The Office of Accounts Receivable and Collections (OARC) is not required to track cumulative claim totals.
Once a household becomes inactive, collection on overpayments of less than $125 established after August 1, 2001 are no longer required to be pursued. Non-pursuit of collections as a result of this regulation is based on the original established amount.
 
OARC cannot discontinue collection efforts based on this waiver when both of the following have occurred:
 
Collection efforts have reduced an established claim to under the referral limit.
The household later becomes inactive.
