B Issuance Time Frames
 
(07/01/10 – 09/30/10)
Send the appropriate notice using one of the following time frames:
 
When a determination results in an approval, send an approval notice by one of the following:
The 45th calendar day from the date of application for new applications.
 
NA EXCEPTION
When the determination results in an approval, send an approval notice by one of the following for NA new applications:
The 30th calendar day from the date of application.
The seventh calendar day from the date of application for expedited NA.
 
Prior to the end of the current approval period for renewal applications.
When a determination results in a denial, send a denial notice by the 45th calendar day from the date of application.
 
NA EXCEPTION
When the determination results in a denial, send a denial notice by the 30th calendar day from the date of application.
 
When a determination results in benefits being stopped, send a closure notice allowing for one of the following:
 
NA EXCEPTION
Adequate notice does not apply to NA. NA closures require either NOAA or No Notice.
NOAA is not required when denying an NA renewal application.
Send an NA denial notice prior to the end of the current approval period for NA renewals.
