Utility Assistance Program

The Utility Assistance Program assists renter households that are unable to pay overdue, current, or future utility bills due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Utility Assistance Program serves all of the 15 counties within Arizona.
Utility Assistance Program payments are issued directly to the utility provider. The payments are not countable as a resource, income, or as a vendor payment.
NOTE The rent and utility expense amount(s) must not be removed or reduced as a result of participating in this program.
Key the OX Unearned Income Code in the INC TYPE field on UNIC. Document the case file with the following: Budgeted Utility Assistance Program payment.
The household completes the application for the Utility Assistance Program. A copy of the utility bill must be provided. The following utility expense types are covered by the Utility Assistance Program:
Wastewater and sewer
