Contract Income Verification
When verifying contract income, use one of the following sources of verification:
●A copy of the contract
NOTE When the contract does not provide enough information, clarify the income details with the participant or employer.
●Participant's statement when no other verification can be obtained, and the participant’s statement is not questionable
Verify all the following for contract income:
●Name of the employer or source of income
●Contract employee's name
●Period the contract is intended to cover
●Period the employee is expected to work
●How much income the participant receives for the contract
●Frequency in which the income is paid
●Whether the contract is the participant’s primary source of income
●Whether the contract income represents the participant’s annual income
When contract income is received hourly or on a
piecework(g) rate, other sources of verification may be needed, such as, but not limited to, pay stubs and employer's printout.
