Contract Income Verification

When verifying contract income, use one of the following sources of verification:
 
A copy of the contract
 
NOTE When the contract does not provide enough information, clarify the income details with the participant or employer.
 
Collateral contact to the employer
Participant's statement when no other verification can be obtained, and the participant’s statement is not questionable
 
Verify all the following for contract income:
 
Name of the employer or source of income
Contract employee's name
Period the contract is intended to cover
Period the employee is expected to work
How much income the participant receives for the contract
Frequency in which the income is paid
Whether the contract is the participant’s primary source of income
Whether the contract income represents the participant’s annual income
 
When contract income is received hourly or on a piecework(g) rate, other sources of verification may be needed, such as, but not limited to, pay stubs and employer's printout.
