Relative Placement
A relative placement caregiver has the child in their home because the child is related. The relative is considered an unlicensed caregiver by the state. The caregiver receives an allowance for personal items and clothing for the child. The following apply:
 
The child can be included in a CA budgetary unit and receive benefits when the budgetary unit meets all CA eligibility requirements.
The caretaker relative may participate in the CA budgetary unit.
Document the case file(g) and verify the income amount intended for each child in the relative placement.
The allowance is not countable for CA when the child meets both of the following:
The child has been placed by the Department of Child Safety (DCS) with relatives.
The child is included in the CA budgetary unit. (See Foster Care Payments)
