.02 Tribal CA-PG Deprivation Determination by Hand

(10/01/10 – 12/31/10)
Complete the following to determine whether the unborn is considered to be deprived of parental support or care when the father of the unborn resides with the participant:

Complete a hand budget using the CA/MA Income Maximum and Needs Test (FA‑200‑A) and CA/MA Budget Record (FA‑200‑B).
Determine income eligibility using income of all mandatory participants who would be included in the budgetary unit as if the baby was born. (See CA Mandatory Participants)

NOTE Complete a hand budget using the FA‑200‑A and B since AZTECS cannot complete the determination in this situation because no CHILD is coded IN on SEPA. The FA‑200‑A and B and instructions to complete them can be found in the Digital Library.

Compare the budget results to the CA Income Standard.

When the hand budget results indicate there is at least one cent ($.01) NET NEED showing on the budget, the Unborn is considered deprived of parental support or care and the pregnant participant is eligible for Tribal CA-PG TANF.

When the hand budget results indicate there is NOT at least one cent ($.01) NET NEED showing on the budget, the Unborn is NOT considered deprived of parental support and the pregnant participant is NOT eligible for Tribal TANF.
