.01 NA Expedited Applications - Eligibility for Expedited Services

(10/01/14 –11/30/14)
Applicants who meet any of the following are potentially eligible for NA expedited services:

Applicants whose liquid resources do not exceed $100, and who anticipate receiving less than $150 gross countable income in the month of application.
Destitute migrant or seasonal farm workers whose liquid resources do not exceed $100.
Applicants whose combined actual gross countable income and liquid resources are less than their monthly shelter costs and the Standard Utility Allowance. This applies when they are obligated to pay utility expenses that qualify for the Standard Utility Allowance.
Applicants whose combined actual gross countable income and liquid resources are less than their monthly shelter costs and the Telephone Utility Allowance.

NOTE When applicants have a telephone expense and no other utility expenses, do not use the Standard Utility Allowance when determining eligibility for expedited services. Use the standard telephone allowance amount.

Applicants are eligible for NA expedited services only when the application is filed outside an existing NA approval period.

There is no limit to the number of times applicants can be approved under expedited procedures as long as prior to each expedited approval either of the following occurs:

The applicant completes the verification requirements that were postponed at the last expedited approval. (See Postponed Verification)
The applicant was approved under normal processing standards since the last expedited approval.

WARNING
Applicants are not eligible for NA expedited services when they are not eligible for benefits for the month of application. The application must be processed according to new application time frames.
